What makes Next Generation Hub so different? How do we actually support young people? What are the "3 Pillars"? Well, these are all valid questions and let's delve deeper to get your questions answered.
What Makes NGH So Different?
Our approach to career education, career advice and support is underpinned by actually focusing on YOU! Yes, you the student who is unsure of what career to pursue, the young professional who feels out of place in the workplace or the graduate facing constant rejections from potential employers.
Out goes the old, in comes the new! At Next Generation Hub, our focus is on:
Understanding your needs and the current stage you are at in your career journey
Providing relatable advice that considers the difficulties of today's job market
A holistic approach that doesn't only tell you to fix your CV. Instead, supporting you with your CV, building your self-confidence and preparing you for the world of work
We don't just give one-time career support instead it's long-lasting designed to support you throughout your career journey whether it's tips to strengthen your application or build your self-confidence. That is where the 3 Pillars come into play!

What Are The 3 Pillars?
The 3 Pillars reflect each stage of the career journey that a young person goes through today. It is across all these stages where we support, guide and ultimately empower each young person to become the person they want to be!
The career journey itself consists of three stages as you progress from education into employment with each stage specific to your current circumstances whether you are still at college or received your job offer:
Pillar 1: Career Discovery
Imagine you are still in education whether that is college or university. You might have had a Careers Fair or Careers Talk that you attended and left with a lot of questions. Mainly, "What do I want to do for my career?".
You're not alone as you shouldn't need to know what you want to do for the rest of your life especially at 18! Instead, you should be discovering what different career pathways out there and experience to see which one they prefer.
That's where we support with our Pillar 1 webinars and resources focused on providing you with sessions and resources co-created with industry professionals:
Industry insights including how to break into a specific industry
Spotlight alternative career routes (apprenticeships, traineeships, T-Levels)
Hear from successful professionals who come from a similar background about their career journeys including both the highs and lows.
Pillar 2: Employability
"I keep getting rejected by companies"
Too many young people are saying this in both the West Midlands and elsewhere in the UK. Why are we accepting this reality?
That is why we have come together with career advisors to provide you with up-to-date career advice supporting you throughout the entire application process and not just one aspect. Our Pillar 2 webinars and resources focuses on:
1-1 Personalised Sessions to unpack your current application setbacks
In-depth support across the entire application process from Online Application to Job Offer
Ready to made templates and tailored advice YOU can apply directly to your own job search
Pillar 3: Upskilling
🎉Congratulations, you've received your job offer and are about to start soon. Or you're already in a career and are in the early stages.
However, the transition from education to the workplace is not an easy one to navigate and that's where we come in with our Pillar 3 focused support. The continuous development we will provide focuses on:
Understanding the key workplace skills needed such as, soft skills
Building your confidence to navigate workplace dynamics such as, how to interact with senior colleagues
Supporting your personal development with tailored content on mental wellbeing and financial literacy
Below, you can read our previous Pillar focused content ranging from insights of a sustainability consultant, interview success strategies and building your self-confidence to pursue your ambitions!
